On Friday, March 21, a small group from HEAR His Heart traveled to Camp Eagle Rock in Tallassee, Tennessee, where we enjoyed the great outdoors and were treated like royalty. On Saturday, March 22, we traveled to Cleveland, Tennessee, to the home of David and Becky Vankoevering. We received a wealth of information from David and had a lot of fun playing the saw and seeing
the vast array of instruments and hundreds of robots that he had in his house. It was awesome seeing the young people of HEAR His Heart praying and ministering to the people at Camp Eagle Rock and praying and giving encouraging words to David and Becky. We had a wonderful time and we look forward to going back to visit again in the future!
The youth of HEAR His Heart went to Promising Pages on Friday, March 21, to participate in a "Magic Wrapping" Party. Promising Pages collects new and gently used children's books from people in the community. Volunteers, like us, sort, clean, stamp, label and wrap the books as special presents. The books are then redistributed back into the community to thousands of children, who have few, if any age-appropriate books at home. We had a fun time preparing these books that will bless children.
This week HEAR His Heart went to Camp Canaan in Rock Hill, SC. Nick Wimmer, the founder of Camp Canaan spoke to us. He shared with us from Hebrews 10:14 "For by a single offering He has perfected forever those who are being made whole." He told us that when God looks at us, He sees Jesus. He said, God was thinking about you this morning and He sees you as perfect in His son. He also told us that God is so pleased with us - for who we are, more than what we do. He said, your identity in Christ is more important than doing things for Him and we need to let that create a hunger and thirst for more of Him.
When Nick finished speaking to us, we prayed over him and gave him encouraging words. Then we headed out into the field to play a fun game of Archery Tag. We had an awesome time at Camp Canaan!
On Friday, March 7, HEAR His Heart went to the Crisis Assistance Ministry to help out in their Free Store. We learned that this amazing ministry helps people out financially to prevent them from becoming homeless. While there, we served as clothing inspectors - inspecting, sorting and folding clothes that will go into their free store. We also met a young man named Pierre, who shared his powerful testimony with us. Before we left, we had an opportunity to pray over him and give him encouraging words. We had a wonderful time working alongside this awesome ministry.
